About

21Born in Milan, Giuse’s formal training as an artist began in high school when she started working at a Ceramic and Pottery studio, ajt Certosa di Pavia (Italy). It was not until 1990 however, that she began working in glass- finding it allowed her to achieve her artistic goals. After having lived many years in many countries in the Gulf, Giuse’s glass and plastic work reflects her fascination with the forms and colours of Arabic landscapes and tradition: this inspiration clearly reverberates throughout her work. Giuse Maggi currently works and lives in Bahrain.

In the past few years, Giuse moved her interest towards other materials, exploring the possibilities to combine post-modern materials such as plastic to the centuries-old processes of basketry and weaving.

Nowadays she is working to a new project with natural fibers.
